Then, peel off the backing of the patch and stick it firmly onto the torn part of your silnylon tent, tarp, backpack, or stuff sack. Press down well to ensure a good bond. As for maintenance, you can wash the patched item normally as these patches are washable. They're also weatherproof, so you don't have to worry about them coming off in the rain or bad weather. Just keep in mind that they work best on silicone - treated fabrics. If the fabric isn't silicone - treated, the patch might not stick as well.
