Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash® is an amazing water - based cleaning spray. It can increase the lifespan of your tents by a whopping 50% just through cleaning! This spray is designed to safeguard tents and other outdoor equipment like packs, panniers, and awnings from UV degradation while effectively removing dirt. Unlike ordinary detergents, it leaves no residues that harm water - repellency. All Nikwax packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic and is recyclable (#2 plastic) in New Zealand. UV light and dirt are the main culprits that damage tents. UV light weakens the fabric and causes fading, while dirt reduces the tent's water - repellent ability. Each 500ml bottle can cover a significant area, with approximately 50ml needed per 1m² of fabric.

Using Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash is easy. First, either erect your tent or protect your working surface and lay the item flat. Then, spray the product evenly on the outside of the fabric. For larger items, apply it in sections. Next, use a damp cloth or sponge to rub it in well, paying extra attention to dirty areas. If there are stubborn stains, you can use a soft nylon brush. After that, rinse with clean water using a cloth or sponge. When it comes to drying, let the item air dry. Make sure it's fully dry before packing it away. Also, remember that if you don't wipe away excess product, marks may appear on the fabric. So, it's a good idea to test it on a hidden area first. The coverage amount depends on the condition of the fabric, but generally, use about 50ml per 1m².
