The Maxxis 29 Minion DHR II Tire takes inspiration from the legendary Minion DHF. Its side knobs are widened, offering more support and excellent cornering. The center tread has ramped leading edges for better acceleration and sipes for a smooth transition when leaning the bike. The paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in during hard braking, helping you keep the bike under control. Pair it with a Minion DHF up front for an ultimate aggressive trail riding tire combo. The Minion DHF comes in trail, enduro, and downhill specs. It has various options including single, dual compound, 3C MaxxTerra, 3C MaxxGrip, or Super Tacky compounds. You can choose from 60 TPI, DoubleDown (2x120 TPI), or DH (2x60 TPI) casings, and EXO or EXO+ sidewall protection. The Wide Trail (WT) sizes are optimized for 35mm inner width rims. Some specs are Tubeless Ready (TR), check the table below for confirmation. This tire is suitable for trail, enduro, and downhill riding in all trail conditions and is recommended for rear installation. The Minion DHRII has amazing braking performance on steep slopes, and its spread-out nobs make it a great all-rounder. Maxxis’ 3C MaxxTerra offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, better treadwear, and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip, ideal for all - condition trail riding. The 3C MaxxGrip uses the stickiest rubber, same as used by top athletes. EXO is a lightweight and flexible cut - and abrasion - resistant sidewall material. EXO+ is for all - around trail riding and light e - bikes, with added protection. DoubleDown is for enduro racing and e - bikes, offering more trail feedback. Tubeless ready tires have many benefits like lower air pressure, less rolling resistance, and less chance of flatting. Wide Trail construction optimizes performance on modern wider rims. Maxxis’ Downhill casing tires are for extreme gravity applications. Super Tacky is a special high - traction compound. Note that wirebead tyres (unfoldable) can't be shipped to Australia.

Using the Maxxis 29 Minion DHR II Tire is easy. If you choose a tubeless ready option, make sure to mount it on a tubeless compatible rim and use a liquid sealant to keep the pressure. The liquid sealant can also seal small punctures. Check the sealant regularly and replace it when it dries out. For different riding conditions, you can select the appropriate compound and casing. For example, if you're riding in wet and slick conditions, 3C MaxxGrip with EXO or EXO+ casing is a good choice. When it comes to maintenance, keep an eye on the tire's wear. If you notice the knobs are getting worn down, it might be time to replace the tire. Also, check for any cuts or damages on the sidewall. If you use the tire on rough terrains, clean it after each ride to remove dirt and debris. This will help the tire last longer and perform better.
